About GPTC:
The General Post and Telecommunications
Company (GPTC) was established in1984. It is one of the leading companies in
Great Jamahiriya, and is a general contributive company which wholly owned by society.
GPTC operates and maintains post centers , wire and wireless telecommunications
systems internally, and connects it with global field. As it further exports and
imports required equipments and tools for that .The main aim of the company is to
develop infrastructure and boost the level of telecommunications and postal services
in Jamahiriya
GPTC Activities :
- To establish, operate and repairs wire and wireless telecommunications
systems nationally and internationally.
- To Provide services of wire and wireless telecommunications for citizens, private
and public sectors.
- To develop the modern and public wire systems.
- To connect Jamahiriya with other countries by the appropriate telecommunications
facilities such as wire and wireless telecommunications systems through establishing
or participation processes.
- To carry out the projects related to post and telecommunications.
- To set the standards and specifications in field of post services and telecommunications.
GPTC Branches and Offices
The company owns a number of post services and telecommunications offices which
reached 420 offices are distributed throughout Libya regions, some of these are 70
telecom-offices distributed by call centres of telecommunications and another 340
offices for post services that are as well distributed by 8 post centres.
Post Office Provides the following :-
Selling post stamps, sending letters
and post envelopes.
Receipt and delivery of money transfers , as well as sending
telegraphs
Hiring mail boxes.
Telecom Offices Provide the following :-
Facility of getting fixed phone line wire or wireless , and additional features
accompanied.
To issue invoices of fixed phone service wire or wireless and fees
for this service.
To receive reports about phone troubles .
